I think it was January. Maybe I'm wrong. But it was in 2016. My memory is kind of faded on how I got to the gate. That gate in the middle of nowhere in a secluded neighborhood in Southern California somehow attracted me. I heard barking and I could smell others. As I got closer to the fence I was greeted by a Husky and I could see a horse in the distance and I saw chicken running around. I thought it was a pretty cool place so I decided to hang out for a while.
A couple of hours later a car approached and a woman got out. I got excited because she was very nice to me and she took me in. From that point on I lived at the ranch. I got good tasty food and could play with my new buddies all day long, man this was paradise! I had all the space in the world and could run around and play with my friends, visit the horse and give the chicken a good run for their money.
As I found out the lady who took me in was fostering strays like me; now was I lucky or what? The days went by and about a year later a man came to the ranch. I noticed words of adoption and I kinda liked the guy. Then he took a leash and we went for a drive to his house. He lived there with his mother and the three of us had good fun together. The man taught me tricks and how to listen to commands like sit, stay, down and so forth. He even tried to teach me how to get the paper but that was a bit too far fetched in my opinion...
One day the man didn't come home. I don't know what happened but the only person around now was his mother. She was already very old so I tried to be on my best behavior. And then one day out of the blue the ranch lady (her name is Pam BTW) showed up! I was so excited to see her again and what do you know - she puts me in her car and takes me back to the ranch to see my old buddies. I stayed and it felt good to be back.
In the summer of 2018 Pam and I got in the car (I LOVE car rides...) and took a drive to Huntington Beach. I wasn't quite sure what was going to happen but I knew something was up. We're in front of a nice house, we ring the bell and nothing happens. So I decided to let out a nice strong bark: "Anybody Home?"
The door opens and two people are all over me and suddenly I'm all over them. We go in the back yard and there's a pool, grass and lots of space to hang out. They even had a doggy house and different beds and pads laid out for me. WHAT was going on?? This is coooool!! Can we stay?
Well long story short, two weeks after that I'm moving into my new crib. Think I got it made now. Lots of attention, plenty of walks, playtime at the dog beach - yeah, I live at the beach now!
